Annual Charity Golf Day

Pitlochry Rotary Club held its Annual Charity Golf Day at Pitlochry Golf Club, with the kind support of the Club. Over 20 teams of 4 enjoyed the day, and in excess of £2,500 was raised.

The winning team this year was from The Atholl Palace Hotel, and the picture is of, from the left, Dougal Spaven and Kevin Fingleton of the Atholl Palace Team, Rotary Club President Ann Gibson-Urquhart, Frank Latchford of the Atholl Palace Team, and Sandy Wilson and Clive Bridges, organisers from the Rotary Club.  In the front is Tommy Allison, also one of the organisers.

New Wheelchair for James Court Sheltered Housing

Pitlochry Rotary Club has given a new wheelchair to James Court Sheltered Housing in Pitlochry.  The wheelchair, for the use of the residents, is being test driven by Mary Christie, watched by, in the back row, Hazel Bellman, Housing Support Officer at James Court, Rotary Club President Ann Gibson-Urquhart and Community/Vocational Chairman Sandy Wilson, and in the front by Tommy Allison and Clive Bridges, members of the Club.

Annual Young Art, and Craft and Design Competition

Pitlochry Rotary Club’s annual Young Art, and Craft and Design Competition has been held in The Atholl Centre in Pitlochry.  The entries were from all the local schools, and the judges, Dee Bowman, Margaret Stevenson and Bill King, as always, said that they had difficulty choosing the winners because of the high standard.

The photograph shows the winners with Councillor  Kate Howie, who presented the prizes.

 The club is grateful to D M Cameron & Co Ltd, who contributed to the costs of holding the competition.

Presentation To Pitlochry Highland Games Committee

The Rotary Club of Pitlochry has presented a Quaich to the Pitlochry Highland Games Committee. The Quaich will be for the Best Overall Highland Dancer at The Annual Games.

Wateraid Munro Challenge

 Six members of Pitlochry Rotary Club have risen to the Wateraid 2010 Munro Challenge by climbing Ben Lui in the Trossachs.

 Wateraid is a Charity that provides clean water to villages in Africa - the total amount raised is expected to be in four figures
